One Month of Training, Depok Table Tennis Athletes Shine with Impressive Achievements

The results were encouraging, especially from two of Depoks leading male players, Mochamad Rizky Hamdani (Ciko) and Hanggito Ahmad Prabowo (Anggit).

BISNISTIME.COM, DEPOK – Tuesday August 26, 2025 The journey of Depok’s table tennis athletes has begun to bear fruit, even though they have only undergone one month of Training Center (TC) sessions. This was evident at the 80th Independence Table Tennis Tournament, hosted by PTM Cagar Alam in collaboration with PTMSI Depok City on August 23–24, 2025. The competition, which lasted until late at night, brought together top players from West Java, Jakarta, and Banten.

For Depok’s athletes, the tournament was not merely about competing, but also about measuring how well they could implement the intensive training program that officially started on July 26, 2025. The results were encouraging, especially from two of Depok’s leading male players, Mochamad Rizky Hamdani (Ciko) and Hanggito Ahmad Prabowo (Anggit).

Both competed in the Fighter category and delivered outstanding performances. Ciko clinched 1st place, while Anggit secured 2nd place, proving Depok’s growing strength in the sport. In the age group category, they put up a tough fight but narrowly lost to Jakarta’s athletes after tight, thrilling matches.

Although other Depok athletes, both male and female, did not reach the podium this time, the tournament provided crucial evaluation points for the coaches and PTMSI Depok in preparing the team for bigger challenges ahead.

The next test awaits as Depok’s athletes are set to participate in two to three more official tournaments before entering the West Java PORPROV 2025 Qualifying Round, scheduled for October 15, 2025. The ultimate goal is to secure a place at the West Java XV Provincial Sports Week (PORPROV) in 2026.

The Chairman of PTMSI Depok expressed his pride and optimism, especially for Ciko and Anggit’s success despite the short preparation time.

“This achievement marks the beginning of Depok’s table tennis revival. With hard work and fighting spirit, we believe Depok can compete not only at the West Java level but also on the national and even international stage,” he said.

This success has become a source of motivation for other athletes to push harder in training. With strong support from the local government, the community, and sports administrators, Depok’s table tennis team is expected to achieve even greater milestones and bring pride to the city.

Though the road ahead is still long, the fighting spirit shown by Depok’s young athletes at the 80th Independence Tournament deserves appreciation. They have proven not only their abilities but also the potential of Depok to rise as a powerhouse in Indonesian table tennis.

Looking forward, bigger challenges await, but with consistency, teamwork, and dedication, Depok’s table tennis athletes are ready to chase even brighter victories.
