BISNISTIME.COM, BOGOR, Indonesia – Tuesday, March 4,2025 In a rapidly evolving industrial landscape, the need for skilled labor has never been greater. Recognizing the challenges faced by vocational high school (SMK) graduates in transitioning to the professional world, Sharp Electronics Indonesia has launched the Sharp Class program. This initiative aims to hone students’ skills and enhance their readiness for the competitive job market.

Recently, Sharp Class arrived at SMKN 1 Gunung Sindur, Bogor, marking a significant step in the company’s commitment to supporting education in Indonesia. The program’s launch was formalized through a memorandum of understanding between PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia and SMKN 1 Gunung Sindur.

The program will provide 25 selected students with intensive training in audio and video product repair, as well as AC cleaning techniques. Furthermore, the company will renovate classrooms to create a more conducive learning environment. Sharp Indonesia will also donate practical equipment, including a smart TV and an AC unit, and offer internship and employment opportunities to high-achieving students.

“We want to provide students with the opportunity to refine their technical skills and prepare them for the challenges of the workforce,” said Lise Tiasanty, Head of Customer Satisfaction Division at PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia. “This program is part of our effort to reduce unemployment among SMK graduates by making them more prepared for the professional world.”

Yonal Herdian, Principal of SMKN 1 Gunung Sindur, welcomed the initiative, stating, “We are very pleased to collaborate with Sharp Indonesia. This training program is invaluable in preparing our students to compete in the job market. We hope that this program will enable SMKN 1 Gunung Sindur to produce more independent and competitive graduates.”

Since its inception in 2012, Sharp Class has expanded to major cities across Indonesia, including Aceh, Denpasar, Surabaya, Palembang, and Banjarmasin. The program has produced over 800 graduates, with approximately 10% joining Sharp Indonesia and the majority finding employment in other leading companies, both domestically and internationally.

Through Sharp Class, Sharp Indonesia is not only educating and training the younger generation but also building a better future by providing skills that are directly applicable in the industry. The company hopes to contribute significantly to producing skilled workers who can meet the demands of Indonesia’s future industrial needs.
