BISNISTIME.COM, YOGYAKARTA – Demonstrating its commitment to education, the Lions Club Yogyakarta Puspita Mataram (LCYPM) organized a social initiative aimed at supporting students in the Yogyakarta region. On Monday, September 23, 2024, the club provided educational assistance, school supplies, and prayer tools to 15 underprivileged students at Riss Hotel Malioboro. The project was led by Lion Titik Priono and Lion Indiah.
The educational aid, delivered twice a year, is a collaborative effort between LCYPM and Lions Club Den Haag 1 in the Netherlands, which has been ongoing since 2012. “Initially, in 2012, the support was extended to five young students at kindergarten and elementary levels. Since 2016, LCYPM has supported 15 students enrolled in middle and high school,” explained Lion Titik Priono.
In addition to educational support, LCYPM conducted a social outreach program, Relieving-The Hunger, where food packages and basic necessities were distributed to the students’ families in need. This initiative, led by Lion Mirsa, aims to alleviate some of the financial strain families face, particularly concerning education-related expenses.
“With this assistance, we hope to ease the burden of educational costs and encourage our foster children to continue striving for a better future,” said LCYPM President, Lion Eni Widiastuti. This ongoing support is expected to motivate the students to pursue their dreams and enhance their quality of life.
