BISNISTIME.COM, JAKARTA – In celebration of World Children’s Day 2024, HOYA Indonesia has introduced a social responsibility program called Glasses of Hope. This initiative aims to provide access to eye health for underprivileged children in Indonesia.
In collaboration with Perdami SPGR (The Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association) and Optik Seis, the program offers free eye examinations, eye health education, and donations of eyeglasses.
According to WHO data, refractive errors such as myopia or nearsightedness have become a growing health challenge, particularly among school-aged children.
This issue often hinders their learning process. Through Glasses of Hope, HOYA seeks to help children see more clearly and support their academic and social potential.
The program also involves consumers through a donation campaign. Every purchase of MiYOSMART lenses during November 2024 contributes to providing eyeglasses for children in need. MiYOSMART is an innovative HOYA lens clinically proven to slow the progression of myopia in children.
Marketing Assistant Manager of HOYA Indonesia, Nihla Azkiya, stated, “Glasses of Hope is a tangible commitment from us to create a better future for Indonesian children.”
Chairperson of Perdami SPGR, Dr. Tri Rahayu, SpM(K), added that this program can raise public awareness of the importance of myopia prevention.
Similarly, Budy Buntaram, Director of Optik Seis, encouraged regular eye check-ups from an early age.
Through this collaboration, HOYA Indonesia hopes to reduce the prevalence of uncorrected refractive errors, enabling Indonesian children to achieve a brighter future. Glasses of Hope is a small step with a significant impact for the nation’s next generation.
