BISNISTIME.COM, JAKARTA — Hotel occupancy rates in downtown Jakarta vary depending on the activity levels of its residents. It’s not unusual for occupancy rates to fluctuate significantly from day to day. For instance, Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays often see lower occupancy rates, on Friday, September 20, 2024
To address this drop in occupancy, 1o1 Urban Thamrin has introduced an innovative program called Sunmori. Unlike the usual Sunmori, which refers to motorcycle riding events, this program stands for Sunday Monday Ceria. This marketing strategy is specifically designed to attract guests to the hotel on days with traditionally lower occupancy.
“To boost guest visits, we created Sunmori,” said Rinaldy Manoppo, Front Office Manager of 1o1 Urban Thamrin, alongside Agus Krismardiyanto, Manager of 1o1 Urban Thamrin. Enjoying a Weekend Sunmori with Family at 1o1 Urban Thamrin
Launched at the end of September, the Sunmori program has shown positive results, with a 10 to 15 percent increase in visits at the beginning of September. “Without any advertising, only through social media with minimal costs, the results have been quite good,” added Rinaldy.
Visitors to this program are generally either loyal hotel customers or those looking to spend the weekend at 1o1 Urban Thamrin. With these achievements, the hotel aims to increase its target visit rate to 20 to 25 percent.
Located in the MH Thamrin area, the heart of downtown Jakarta, 1o1 Urban Thamrin faces intense competition. Therefore, implementing top-notch service strategies and attractive offers for specific days is crucial.
The hotel is currently undergoing management and service facility improvements in line with its plan to upgrade from a three-star to a four-star status. This includes replacing some of the room furnishings with premium products, as the building was previously an apartment. Additionally, the hotel’s name will change to 1o1 Thamrin.
